Probably more than 150 million dogs lives in the world. But there is no official data on this subject, because there are no records and statistics on all animals. The number of dogs per hundred inhabitants, depending on the region of the world, ranging from a few in Japan to more than twenty in the U.S. and Australia. These animals live in almost every corner of the globe, a variety of forms they adopt, does not occur in any other group of domesticated animals. Officially categorized over 400 different breeds, but every year there is more and more.
The dog is an animal that man domesticated firsts. Why do we have such clean and deep feelings for our pet dogs? Now, in changing times, these pets, fulfill the empty space in life of lonely people. They are sometimes the only helpers for people who were experienced through life. We know that people train dogs to help patients or fight with crime. We can say that they are our little heroes. But having such a creature in the house, which requires a lot of devotion and responsibility, must be preceded by a thoughtful decision. Every year, dogs are thrown out and at best end up in shelters. We hear so much about violence against those defenseless beings. Violence against animals should be meted out same penalty as for violence against humans. This immediately brings up questions: "Why are they guilty? Are they responsible for wars, human misery in the world? Or they become experimental rabbits for immature, irresponsible and cruel people?". Last option scares me the most. The dogs are like humans. Bad education may cause in the future aggressive behaviours, because everyone must be shown to follow the example, instilled values, so that behavior will be correct.
So treat the dogs, also like other animals in a dignified way as other living beings, sensing the pain and suffering. Next to it extraordinary importance takes the education about the responsibility and skills of how to handle them. It's possible, if You want.

Na świecie żyje przypuszczalnie ponad 150 milionów psów. Nie ma jednak oficjalnych danych na ten temat, gdyż nie są prowadzone rejestry i statystyki wszystkich zwierząt. Liczba psów przypadająca na stu mieszkańców, w zależności od rejonu świata, wynosi od kilku w Japonii do ponad dwudziestu w USA i Australii. Zwierzęta te żyją niemal w każdym zakątku kuli ziemskiej, a różnorodność form, jakie przyjmują, nie występuje w żadnej innej grupie zwierząt udomowionych. Oficjalnie sklasyfikowano ponad 400 różnych ras, ale z każdym rokiem pojawia się ich coraz więcej.
Pies jest zwierzęciem, które człowiek udomowił najwcześniej. Dlaczego żywimy do niego tak wyraziste i głębokie uczucia? Otóż, w zmieniających się czasach, pupile te, wypełniają pustkę samotnym ludziom. Są czasami jedynymi pomocnikami ludzi ciężko doświadczonych przez życie. Wiemy, że ludzie szkolą psy, by niosły pomoc chorym lub walczyły z przestępczością. Można powiedzieć, że są to nasi mali bohaterowie. Lecz posiadanie w domu takiej istoty, wymagającej dużo poświęcenia i odpowiedzialności, musi być poprzedzone przemyślaną decyzją. Co roku psy są wyrzucane i w najlepszym wypadku trafiają do schronisk. Tyle słyszy się o przemocy wobec tych bezbronnych istnień. Za przemoc wobec zwierząt powinny być wymierzane kary identyczne, jak za przemoc wobec ludzi. Od razu nasuwają się pytania: "Bo czemu one są winne? Są odpowiedzialne za wojny, nieszczęścia ludzi na świecie? Czy może stają się królikami doświadczalnymi bezmyślnych, nieodpowiedzialnych i okrutnych ludzi?". Ta ostatnia opcja przeraża mnie najbardziej. Z psami jest jak z ludźmi. Złe wychowanie może w przyszłości wykazać agresywne zachowania, bo każdy musi mieć ukazane wzorce do naśladowania, wpojone wartości, dzięki którym zachowania będą poprawne.
Dlatego traktujmy psy, również tak jak inne zwierzęta w sposób godny, jak inne istoty żywe, wyczuwające ból, cierpienie. Przy tym niezwykłego znaczenia nabiera edukacja na temat odpowiedzialności i umiejętności obchodzenia się z nimi. Wystarczy tylko chcieć.
